About Ana Kresina – Kids Ain’t Cheap

While expecting, I realized that there’s so much information on pregnancy and giving birth, but very little information about navigating parenthood financially. With about 6 million families in Australia, and 300,000 babies born a year, surely others would benefit from learning how to better navigate one of the most financially stressful times in their lives. I know I would.

That is why I wrote Kids Ain’t Cheap.

It’s the book that I wish existed when I was expecting. In the book you will learn how much it costs to raise a child, parenting money mindset, how to budget for a family, the financial impact of taking parental leave, (even if it’s paid) and the flow-on effect it has on earning potential and the superannuation (retirement) gender gap. Plus in this book, you will learn how to invest for your child and to teach them about money in order to set them up for success.

The truth is that parents worry more about money in the lead-up to having a baby than at any other time in their life. It’s the only time that there’s a massive decrease in income and an increase in expenses, and unlike using a budgeting app to figure out your monthly outgoings, kids don’t come with a projected expense report.

This book is the answer to getting your finances sorted for parenthood so that you can focus on more important things – your family.
