Best Financial Influencer at the MAIAs 2023? EDUFIA Education Financière en Afrique

EDUFIA Education Financière en Afrique emerged as the Best Financial Influencer at the Money Awareness and Inclusion Awards (MAIAs), winning the only category decided by popular vote. This remarkable achievement recognizes the unwavering dedication of Bruno Kodjo Akpatigbe, the visionary founder of EDUFIA, in empowering Africans with the knowledge and tools for financial success.

A Mission of Empowerment

“When I left the corporate world and faced the reality of African people, including myself, I realized that the lack of knowledge about wealth accumulation was a significant challenge,” shared Akpatigbe.

“My mission became assisting as many individuals as possible in achieving financial balance and confidently building their wealth over time.”

Harnessing Experience for Greater Good

With over 15 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant, Akpatigbe recognized the critical need for financial literacy among companies and individuals in the West African sub-region. Motivated by personal struggles and a passion for driving change, he embarked on a mission to equip Africans with the skills needed to thrive financially.

Impactful Initiatives

At the core of EDUFIA’s efforts is the annual “Ecole des finances personnelles” or “Personal Finances’ School” (PFS) conference. Since its establishment in 2018, PFS has positively impacted the lives of over 300 attendees, providing them with invaluable insights and practical guidance on managing personal finances.

Beyond the Conference: A Vision for the Future

EDUFIA’s success extends beyond the conference, as Akpatigbe aims to establish the first physical school dedicated to financial and entrepreneurial education in Togo and French-speaking Sub-Saharan Africa. To support these ambitious goals, Akpatigbe has established the EDUFIA Association, which now oversees all his financial education initiatives.

Recognition and Praise from the MAIAs

The Best Financial Influencer Prize awarded to EDUFIA at the MAIAs is a testament to the organization’s profound impact and the remarkable commitment of its founder. Michael Gilmore, co-founder of MAIAs, praised Akpatigbe’s unwavering dedication, stating, “Bruno Kodjo Akpatigbe’s commitment to empowering individuals with financial knowledge is truly commendable. His work aligns seamlessly with the mission of the MAIAs, to make money better, and we are thrilled to present him with this prestigious prize.”

Trudi Harris, MAIA co-founder, echoed Gilmore’s sentiments, emphasizing the transformative power of financial education in fostering inclusivity and empowerment. “EDUFIA’s initiatives have the potential to revolutionize communities by equipping individuals with the knowledge necessary to make informed financial decisions,” expressed Harris.

“We proudly recognize EDUFIA as a leading force in promoting financial inclusion in Africa. We hope this recognition serves as validation of their unwavering commitment to empowering Africans across the continent – and encouragement to do more.”
